Those words meant something in the good ole days.
It meant that the man behind the wheel was cool he was smooth and he new his business and peoples. The car looked good as drove by and your teenage eyes goggled at how nice the rims and white walls looked. How quite it sounded until you hit the horn and one of those fanc tunes would play. the only thing in the window was in the back the doggy with the head going up and down and the eyes lighting up.
The dude driving not only had a clean car, but he was clean and his long mink coat matched the car if he was the street hustler. But the Business man matched just the same to his ride. The words pimp my ride really meant something back then. These guys today in my opinion have nothing on the rides of yesterday. And when it came time to take a ride watch out baby because she sank down to the road and took off giving you such a smooth ride you would feel like it was driving it self. Now everyone is worried about the gas not the comfort. They think the cockpit is what is great. with the console in the middle so they can feel like they are driving a stick when it is an automatic. go figure right?
Now I sell cars for a living and if the people of today like that then more power to them come on in and get yours. I introduced my oldest to a retired NYC tlc taxi crown victoria and now his younger brother wants one. I pointed out the qualities of the seating set up and he gets it now when his girlfriend is in the car.
Well this is why I like the older cars of our times and I am sad to lose the people like my self who grew up with these cars to see them go away or one of these kids get hold of one and turn it into something I don’t know what. But again to each his own. But if you know what I am trying to say take a look around save one if you can. I would like something like the picture above myself or this one
