Is this what the “Golden Age” looks like?

The users of Route 434 certainly do not feel they are living in a “Golden Age” despite the Town of Conche boasting a vibrant and prosperous economy. Thousands of tourists flock to this destination each year,  an active fish processing plant has residents from all over the greater region employed and commuters work in neighbouring Roddickton, the region’s service centre. Despite this positive economy, all business, commuters, residents and visitors are held back from its experiencing the true economic and social potential of Conche by the failure to complete paving Route 434.

A “Golden Age” in reference to the economy, would be a period when we are at our peak. I cringe at the thought that Newfoundland & Labrador has reached its economic peak, given the growing needs for infrastructure, programs and services.
