This is great sentiment and I for one think it speaks a lot of truth. Not so sure I agree about the black box it is a way with gps to help the idiots of the road learn not to be. I do however Agee self driving is not the greatest idea yet. Like he says who is responsible should your self driver get hacked or just fail and you and a whole bunch of others die?
Well waiting for the thoughts on this now? I have put this self driving thing down every chance I get still no defense has arrived as of yet. Test all you want these self drivers can not anticipate everything, and the one time they can’t is when the driver will say “well it was driving not me”.
Maybe it’s just a sign of impending old age — or, as is much more likely, a little healthy paranoia on my part — but, every time things start looking really, really good, I start checking over my shoulder for the bad news that must almost assuredly follow.
And things are, if you’re a car nut at least, really good. The modern automobile is safer than ever; spacious enough for our ever-expanding corpi, luxurious beyond imagination, and, most surprisingly, sportier than ever. I say surprising because the sports car’s eulogy has been written so many times now — the Oil Crisis of 1973, the proliferation of hybrids, yet more staggering fuel price increases, the list goes on — that, were pessimism always veracious, we should all be driving around in some asthmatic one-lung golf cart with the comfort of a park bench and the speed of a tortoise on ’ludes.
